    OTTAWA, Oct. 2 /CNW Telbec/ - Canadian Medical Association (CMA)
President, Dr. Brian Day, will be the luncheon speaker at the Empire Club of
Canada on Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
    In his speech, Dr. Day will discuss: building on the Canada Health Act;
patient-focused funding for hospitals; the health workforce shortage,
expanding use of health information technology and private medical insurance.
His plan of action will culminate with issues to be addressed in the upcoming
federal speech from the throne.
