In three years Teresa Cascioli led Lakeport Brewing out of bankruptcy to
become the No. 3 brewery in Ontario before selling it in 2007 to Labatt
Breweries for an impressive $200 million. Robert Herjavec, of Dragon's
Den fame, came up with the idea for his first technology company while
waiting tables at an upscale Toronto restaurant and less than 10 years
later he sold it for $100 million. Recognized by Profit Magazine as
Canada's top female entrepreneur for seven consecutive years, Rebecca
MacDonald took her Energy Savings Income Fund public in 2001, and the
company's annual revenue now exceeds $1.7 billion. Dragon's Den's Kevin
O'Leary made his millions helping teach children how to read, building
SoftKey Software Products out of his basement before eventually selling
it in 1999 to Mattel Toy Company for an incredible $3.7 billion.
